From Loser to Winner in Minutes

Have you ever had one of those days where you just thought to yourself, “Ugh, why bother?”  You know those days, the ones where you feel like everything you do is doomed to fail miserably.  Where do they come from? Who knows.  Why do we get them?  No clue.

For most of us those moments of gloom don’t last very long, usually a day perhaps two.  But if left unchecked they can snowball into a serious case of depression.

Whether your suffering from a momentary lapse of reason or a more serious case of the “I’m a losers'” I have a quick tip  that can help you shift your mood and get back on track in no time:

Ask yourself, “What am I proud of?”  Make a list of all of the things you can think of you are proud of such as your work ethic, the business you started, your child getting an “A’ in English, your home, the landscaping you did on your yard over the weekend, going to the gym when you’d rather watch TV, your compassion, etc.  Next, ask yourself, “What else?”  I guarantee you will think of something else you are proud of.  Keep asking, “What else?” until you are absolutely out of things to brag about.  And that is what you are doing!  You are bragging about your accomplishments.

Your Ego is being a bully and telling you you are no good so stand up to that bully and let him/her have it!  Tell it every reason why you are a great amazing success!

Try it, modify it to fit your needs and let me know how it works for you.

And as always have a Happy Healthy Day!!!!!

“Daily” Challenge – Peace Meditation – 7/18/14

World events over the last several days have brought into focus the downward spiral of society into war and violence.  Countries fighting countries, religions versus religions, drug cartels clashing with drug cartels, politician against politician and the list goes on.

The Law of Attraction tells us that what we think about we bring about.  Thus the more we focus on the unrest and violence in the world around us the more of it we create.  In addition, the Maharishi Effect provides us with scientific evidence that even a small group of individuals practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique can positively effect the surrounding population.             (Visit: http://theuncarvedblog.com/tag/research-on-meditation-and-world-peace for more information)

So, this time I am extending the Daily Challenge through the entire weekend.

Your challenge for the next 3 days is to spend 10-15 minutes each day meditating on “Peace”.   Now, for this exercise I am speaking not of inner peace but external or global peace.  Direct your meditation to thoughts, images and feelings of peaceful resolutions to conflicts around the world, in your community or in your personal life.  Visualize what the outcome of this resolution looks like.  How does the end to the conflict make you feel?  How does it postiviely affect you and those around you?  If you cannot “see” or “feel” a successful conclusion then simply make the word “Peace” your mantra.

We probably won’t change the world in 3 days but even a small shift in the collective conscious of the planet can have a major impact.

So, have a great and Peaceful weekend!

Daily Challenge 6/25/14

If you change the filter on your camera you change the way the world looks.

The same is true if you change your personal filter.

Today, before you leave to go out for the day adjust your personal filter to see a world full of kind, happy, generous people.  Then pay attention to your experiences throughout the day.  I guarantee your day will be filled with encounters with people who are kind, happy and generous.  It happens like magic.

Change the filter, change your life.

Learn, Grow and Be Aware

We are all put on Earth to learn and grow.

What did you learn today?

Either declare it to the world by posting a comment here or declare it to yourself by writing it down right now.

If you did not learn or grow today perhaps you are spending too much time in the past, worrying too much about the future and not devoting enough time to living, learning and growing in the present.

What are You Grateful for Right Now? Take the Poll.

This month’s WellWork assignment is to keep a Gratitude Journal and write down not only what you are grateful for but a few short sentences as to why.

Check out my blog post from June 1st, 2014 if you need a quick review.

Have you been writing in your journal daily or at least 3-4 times a week?

Part of the exercise is to experience the emotion of gratitude while you are writing in your journal, how does it feel to focus on gratitude for several minutes a day?

What changes have you noticed in your life since you started this exercise?  Stop and think about it.

  • Are you people more helpful and polite toward you?
  • Are you getting along better with coworkers or family members?
  • Did you get that new promotion you wanted?
  • Do you feel happier?

To help you with your WellWork for today (and to satisfy my own curiosity) I have included a poll below.  Vote for the answer you are most grateful for right now.  Then I suggest posting a comment expressing why you are grateful.  Post your comment in the comments section here, on Facebook or Twitter, create a cute pic for Instagram or if you are grateful for someone in your life deliver it in person.

What ever you decide to do, keep up the good work and keep feeling grateful. AND don’t forget to vote!!!!

Today’s Challenge – 5/7/14

Here’s your challenge for today:

Spend 10 minutes outside today. Take a walk, sit and read, listen to the birds, work in the garden or meditate. Do whatever pleases you, but get out of the EMF, fluorescent lighting and stale air.
Enjoy the space, freedom and peace a few moments outdoors can provide.
And if possible, leave your phone on its charger 😉

Have a happy healthy day!
